Filming in the Amazon
Shooting in the Peruvian rainforest: protected areas, rivers and communities.
What you need to know
Before you shoot
The Amazon covers more than half of Peru. Many of its best locations sit inside protected natural areas and can only be reached by river.
- Filming in protected natural areas requires a request to SERNANP, signed by the responsible producer.
- The request details the route, exact locations, dates, crew list and equipment.
- Access is usually by plane to cities such as Puerto Maldonado or Iquitos, then by boat.
- The rainy season changes river levels and access to some areas.
- Filming in communities requires coordination with, and consent from, the community.
Rules change. We confirm the current requirements for every project.

- We handle the filming permits

- We coordinate with local communities
- We prepare and protect equipment for humidity
- A camera operator with rainforest experience
