My story

Three generations behind the camera

I was born and raised in a family tied to the first generation of camera operators in Peru. I am part of the second generation of that tradition, and I learned in the field: from experience, discipline and observation.

Over four decades I have filmed nature, history, archaeological discoveries, presidents and major news events, in Peru and abroad. I have worked in Indigenous communities, in hard-to-reach territory and in high-risk situations. Each experience made me better at staying calm, solving problems and delivering what the production needs.

Since the 1980s I have built an extensive footage archive of Peru and the world. Today the third generation of the Zacarías family, my children, carries the work forward.
